Bellville Trinity Church of the Nazarene

|
The Church of the Nazarene has had a presence in the Tattnall-Evans Counties area since 1909 when a group of Nazarenes from Donalsonville, Georgia held a revival in the rural railroad community of Manassas, Georgia. Three years later, 1912, the first Church of the Nazarene in Claxton, Georgiawas organized with nine charter members. The congregation met in the downstairs of a store building on Main Street, known by some as the old Masonic Hall, until moving four years later back to Manassas into the old Rehoboth school building. For an unknown reason, the church disbanded in the early 1950s. However, the church was re-opened following a three-week revival held by Nazarene preachers in 1953. The church remained there until November of 1965 when the final service was held in the old church and the congregation left together to dedicate the new church facility on Highway 169 south of Bellville, Georgia where the congregation continues to meet today. Trinity Church of the Nazarene enjoys a rich Christian heritage. Many descendants of those original founders are still active in the church today, discipling new Christians and providing a stabilizing link to our treasured history. The story of Trinity Church of the Nazarene is still being written, along with the story of the entire Body of Christ. As worshipers from all ages and backgrounds join together in worship and service, Trinity Church of the Nazarene will continue to build upon the foundations of the past as we move into the future, anticipating our Lord's return.
